The Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project (FilVetREP) has achieved considerable support from both Congress and the public to honor the legacy and memory of the sacrifices that Filipino veterans of World War II selflessly made for future generations of Filipinos. Efforts such as the passage of the Filipino Veterans of WWII Congressional Gold Medal Act, the creation of the Duty to Country Education Project, and the pending action to repeal the Rescission Act of 1946 have compelled both Filipinos and Americans to pay attention to its repercussions on the lives of Filipino veterans and demand better from current leaders.

Its online interactive educational program, dutytocountry.org, is an immeasurable contribution to the preservation and recognition of the achievements of Filipino veterans. Through this effort, the Philippines and the United States are bound together in ways that have never been done before, honoring both nations and the veterans from each country, strengthening its relevance to today’s generation.
